ACT4404N - Single Transceiver for MACAIR (A3818, A4905, A5232, A5690), MIL-STD-1553 & SAE-AS15531

Aeroflex 2008/12/24 09:48

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Aeroflex-Plainview ACT4404N series are a new generation monolithic transceiver which provide full compliance with Macair and MIL-STD-1553 data bus requirements.
The model ACT4404N series performs the front-end analog function of inputting and outputting data through a transformer to a MIL-STD-1553 or Macair data bus. The ACT4404N and ACT4440N can be considered a "Universal" Transceiver in that it is compatible with MIL-STD-1553A/B, Macair (A-3818, A-4905, A-5232 and A-5690).
Design of these transceivers reflects particular attention to active filter performance. This results in low bit and word error rate with superior waveform purity and minimal zero crossover distortion. The ACT4404N and ACT4440N active filter design has additional high frequency roll-off to provide the required Macair low harmonic distortion waveform without increasing the pulse delay characteristics significantly.
Efficient transmitter electrical and thermal design provides low internal power dissipation and heat rise at high and well as low duty cycles. An optional receiver input threshold adjustment can be accomplished by the use of the ''External Threshold" terminals.

Aeroflex 2008/10/20 09:49

DESCRIPTION
The Comstron Model PSC-4490 is a Nyquist bandpass filter used in a DAC( digital to analog converter). The purpose of the filter is to normalize the amplitude response of an input o(Sin x)/xo signal spectrum, and to reject unwanted frequencies while maintaining low group delay variation in the passband. The equalizing shape over the passband is |x/sin x|2 where where x = (∮f)/fs and fs=50.0 MSPS (sampling rate).

FEATURES
*INVERSE SINC, SQUARE ROOT NYQUIST (ARBITRARY SHAPING AVAILABLE)
*FLAT GROUP DELAY
*SHARP ATTENUATION
*COMPACT SIZE
*FREQUENCY RANGE; 1 MHZ - 3000 MHZ

ACT8502-Radiation Hardened & ESD Protected 48-Channel Analog Multiplexer Module

Aeroflex 2008/08/21 10:01

General Description
Aeroflex’s ACT8502 is a radiation hardened, multi-chip 48 channel multiplexer MCM (multi-chip
module) with ESD protection for use in space applications.
All channel inputs have electrostatic discharge protection.
The ACT8502 has been specifically designed to meet exposure to radiation environments.
The multiplexer is available in a 96 lead High Temperature Co-Fired Ceramic (HTCC) Quad Flatpack QFP) and is guaranteed operational from -55°C to +125°C.
Available screened in accordance with MIL-PRF-38534, the ACT8502 is ideal for demanding military and space applications.

*Typical Weight 15 grams
*DESC SMD Pending

Organization and Application
The ACT8502 consists of six 16 channel muxes arranged as shown in the Block Diagram.
The ACT8502 design is inherently Radiation Hard due to the HS1840RH Multiplexers as well as
Microsemi Corp.
Transient Suppressors (Reference Microsemi MicroNotes Series 050 - page 14).
48 channels addressable by Bus A0~A3, in Three 16 channel blocks, each block enabled
separately.
Each block connects the addressed channel to two outputs, "Output" and "Current".
This technique enables selecting and reading a remote resistive sensor without the MUX
resistance being part of the measurement.
For grounded sensors, this is done by passing current to the sensor by means of the "Current" pin and reading the resultant voltage (proportional to the sensor resistance) at the "Output" pin.
NOTE: It is recommended that all "NC or "no connect pin", be grounded.
This eliminates or minimizes any ESD or static buildup.

UT54LVDS217 - Serializer

Aeroflex 2008/04/29 09:33

INTRODUCTION
The UT54LVDS217 Serializer converts 21 bits of CMOS/TTL data into three LVDS (Low Voltage Differential Signaling) data streams.
A phase-locked transmit clock is transmitted in parallel with the data streams over a fourth LVDS link.
Every cycle of the transmit clock 21 bits of input data are sampled and transmitted.
At a transmit clock frequency of 75MHz, 21 bits of TTL data are transmitted at a rate of 525 Mbps per LVDS data channel.
Using a 75MHz clock, the data throughput is 1.575 Gbit/s (197 Mbytes/sec).
The UT54LVDS217 Serializer allows the use of wide, high speed TTL interfaces while reducing overall EMI and cable size.
