AMS1086 - 1.5A LOW DROPOUT VOLTAGE REGULATOR

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The AMS1086 series of adjustable and fixed voltage regulators are designed to provide 1.5A output current and to operate down to 1V input-to-output differential. The dropout voltage of the device is guaranteed maximum 1.5V at maximum output current, decreasing at lower load currents.
On-chip trimming adjusts the reference voltage to 1%. Current limit is also trimmed, minimizing the stress under overload conditions on both the regulator and power source circuitry.
The AMS1086 devices are pin compatible with older three-terminal regulators and are offered in 3 lead TO-220 package, 3 lead TO-263 (Plastic DD) and TO-252 (D PAK) package.

KB3302 - 2Amp, 2MHz Step-up Switching regulator with Soft-Start

DESCRIPTION
The KB3302 is a high-frequency current-mode step-up switching regulator with an integrated 2A power transistor. Its high switching frequency (programmable up to 2MHz) allows the use of tiny surface-mount external passive components. Programmable soft-start eliminates high inrush current during start-up. The internal switch is rated at 32V making the converter suitable for high voltage applications such as Boost, SEPIC and Flyback.
The operating frequency of the KB3302 can be set with an external resistor. The ability to set the operating frequency gives the KB3302 design flexibilities. A dedicated COMP pin allows optimization of the loop response. The KB3302 is available in thermally enhanced 8-Pin MSOP packages.

APE8953 - 3A ULTRA LOW DROPOUT LINEAR REGULATOR

DESCRIPTION
The APE8953 is a 3A ultra low dropout linear regulator.
The product is specifically designed to provide well supply voltage for front side bus termination on motherboard and NB applications. The IC needs two supply voltages, a voltage for the circuitry and a main supply voltage for power conversion to reduce power dissipation and provide extremely low dropout. The APE8953 integrates many functions. A Power-on-Reset(POR) circuit monitors both supply voltage to prevent wrong operations. A thermal shutdown and current limit functions protect the device against thermal and current over-load. A POK indicates the output status with time delay which is set internally. It can control other converter for power sequence. The APE8953 can be enabled by other power system. Pulling and holding
the EN pin below 0.4V shuts off the output.
The APE8953 is available in ESOP-8 package which features small size as SO-8 and exposed pad to reduce the junction-to-case resistance, being applicable in 2~3W applications.

LT1373-250kHz Low Supply Current High Efficiency 1.5A Switching Regulator

DESCRIPTION
The LT®1373 is a low supply current high frequency current mode switching regulator.
It can be operated in all standard switching configurations including boost, buck, flyback, forward, inverting and “Cuk.”
A 1.5A high efficiency switch is included on the die, along with all oscillator, control and protection circuitry.
All functions of the LT1373 are integrated into 8-pin SO/PDIP packages.
Compared to the 500kHz LT1372, which draws 4mA of quiescent current, the LT1373 switches at 250kHz, typically consumes only 1mA and has higher efficiency.
High frequency switching allows for small inductors to be used.
All surface mount components consume less than 0.6 square inch of board space.
New design techniques increase flexibility and maintain ease of use.
Switching is easily synchronized to an external logic level source.
A logic low on the shutdown pin reduces supply current to 12mA.
Unique error amplifier circuitry can regulate positive or negative output voltage while maintaining simple frequency compensation techniques.
Nonlinear error amplifier transconductance reduces output overshoot on start-up or overload recovery.
Oscillator frequency shifting protects external components during overload conditions.
